| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Welding is a skill that any do-it-yourself enthusiast needs in his arsenal. It's only when you can join metal that you can properly repair and create. This book is the perfect introduction for neophytes and an excellent refresher for veteran welders, a work so comprehensive and so complete that most readers won't need any further instruction. How to Weld starts with a brief history of welding, an overview of the different types of welding, and a thorough discussion of safety practices. Longtime welding instructor Todd Bridigum describes various tools and types of metals, as well as techniques and types of joints. Bridigum discusses gas, stick, wire-feed (MIG and TIG), even brazing, completing each section with a series of exercises that fully illustrate the skills he has covered.

Overview of my thoughts on this book August 21, 2010 Charles M. Dorris The author had may valuable little tips throughout his discussion of various welding techniques. I have been welding for several years, yet found points to ponder and enjoyed how he handled them. This is not a book on some of the "first chapter" types of raw basics, so for this just pick up a beginners book.
Great basic welding book! August 17, 2010 K. Householder (Fort Collins, CO, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The author did a great job of explaining many ins and outs of welding. I've been welding on personal projects for about 5 years and I learn something new on every page. Either I didn't know much before reading this book or this book is really informative. I highly recommend this book to all beginning to intermediate welders out there.

Great book June 25, 2010 James Hosking (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book for the beginner as well as the intermediate welder, but would not be needed for a pro or very experienced welder. I have welding experience and have referred to it many times since my purchase and it has clarified a lot of questions for me. I recommend the book.
This is the best welding book for geginner & intermediate welders March 18, 2010 T. Trover (PDX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I checked this book out from the library. I liked it so much I bought it from Amazon the next day. Filled with lots of useful information, how-to's, settings, etc... I already am an intermediate MIG welder. I bought this to provide knowledge on how to increase my process skills to include TIG.
